Backed by Universal Pictures and BT, Coolroom.com will be offering
15,000 people the chance to attend a unique free public screening of Spielberg's
classic film on Brighton's East Beach on Saturday 27th August 2005. With live
bands and beach volleyball all afternoon, and a forty-five foot screen with full
surround sound to feature Jaws in all his gory glory late into the night, we can
guarantee this will be a hair-raising experience for all?
To coincide with this event, and to celebrate the film''s 30 th anniversary,
Universal Pictures are giving you a chance to rediscover the terror and
adventure of this modern cinema classic by releasing a 2 disc Special Edition
DVD and a limited edition Collector''s box set from 29th August 2005. Both of
which remind us why Jaws was nominated for a Best Picture OscarĀ® and forever
changed the way entire generations think about swimming in the ocean.
WaterAid, a charity which provides clean water and sanitation for some of the
world''s poorest people, is delighted to be the chosen beneficiary from this
exciting event. Aquatic dangers of a different kind are an everyday reality for
one sixth of the world''s population ?1.1 billion people have no clean water, and
a child dies every 15 seconds due to preventable waterborne diseases. At the
event itself, WaterAid will be on hand to give out fresh water to a thirsty bank
holiday audience.
